Sustainable consumption and production are increasingly a priority for business and for policymakers. Good practices have shown that product environmental information highlighting the positive effect on the environment, can have a positive impact on consumer behavior, supporting them in their buying decisions and guiding them in responsible product use and disposal. For a global leader in the healthcare sector Ulrike developed a comprehensive step by step guideline on how to create effective and trustworthy environmental claims avoiding greenwashing. The guideline has been established based on thorough interviews to really identify the need of the teams followed by several co-create sessions. Involving cross functional teams right from the start enabled Ulrike to develop the guideline ensuring that all aspects from different functions such as supply chain, marketing, sustainability, design, and markets/businesses where taken into consideration throughout the project.
